Transparent, Evidence-Based Senior School Pathway & Track Guidance
Transitioning learners from Junior School (Grades 7–9) into Senior School (Grades 10–12) requires more than a single end-of-term test score. Somesha combines longitudinal school assessments, verified external examination records (KPSEA, KJSEA, SBA), teacher observations, and learner interests into a versioned, auditable guidance workflow.
Three Senior School Pathways & Eight Specialized Tracks
Somesha evaluates learner competency clusters across all three Senior School pathways and their eight constituent tracks using configurable, version-controlled rule-sets.
Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM)
4 SPECIALIZED TRACKSDesigned for learners demonstrating strong analytical, mathematical, scientific, and technical competencies across Junior School learning areas.
Social Sciences Pathway
2 SPECIALIZED TRACKSDesigned for learners excelling in linguistic expression, civic inquiry, historical analysis, economics, and enterprise management.
Arts & Sports Science Pathway
2 SPECIALIZED TRACKSDesigned for learners with demonstrated talent and competency in creative expression, performing arts, visual design, and athletic science.
How Somesha Compiles, Verifies, and Evaluates Pathway Evidence
Manual Entry & CSV Bulk Import with Identity Matching
Schools register KPSEA, KJSEA, and SBA results individually or via CSV/Excel import with interactive column mapping, dry-run validation preview, duplicate detection, Admission Number/UPI matching, and batch rollback protection.
Strict Separation of Verified vs Unverified Results
Every external result carries an explicit verification status: Pending, Verified, Rejected, or Unable to Verify. Only Verified results are included in pathway eligibility calculations, while original grades and scale conversions are preserved in the audit trail.
Multi-Scale Normalization & Outlier Protection
Normalizes grades across 4-level CBC, 8-point CBC, Percentage, and 12-point scales using documented conversion tables. Protects learners from automatic exclusion caused by a single uncharacteristic low term score.
Four Explicit Recommendation Classifications
Rather than ranking pathways solely by raw total marks or hiding student aspirations, every generated Somesha Pathway Guidance Report classifies each track into one of four transparent categories:
The learner meets all required subject cluster thresholds AND achieves strong weighted competency scores across both internal school assessments and verified external examinations.
The learner satisfies the minimum configured rule-set criteria for the pathway and track, even if another pathway has a slightly higher aggregate alignment.
Explicitly highlights the pathway and career tracks recorded in the learner's own interest profile alongside their objective academic readiness and any targeted learning gaps.
Flagged when core learning area scores are missing, external assessment records are still Pending/Unverified, or internal vs external results show significant divergence.
Provisional Report Safeguards When Evidence Is Incomplete
Somesha never generates a misleadingly definitive report when core records are missing. If a learner has only single-term scores, missing compulsory learning areas, unverified external results, or conflicting internal vs external trends, the report is automatically marked PROVISIONAL with itemized data-gap disclosures.
Counsellor Review, Editable AI Guidance & Parent Consultation
Data-grounded AI narrative explanations are clearly labeled with their source evidence and can be edited or overridden by the Guidance Counsellor or Class Teacher before principal approval. Every report includes dedicated sections to record parent/guardian and learner consultation outcomes and linked LMS learning goals.
Somesha's CBC Learning Pathway Guidance Report is an institutional academic advisory and decision-support tool for schools, teachers, parents, and learners. It does not independently guarantee Senior School placement, Ministry of Education / KNEC selection, or future career outcomes.
